From the moment we are born we moved and it is through our bodies and movement that we express the wholeness of who we are.  To reclaim our bodies and to honor their many daily dances is to rediscover our selves as active beings, capable of making a difference in our world. In this way, we can more fully and authentically live our lives embrace deep sources of wisdom and creativity.

What is the focus of this workshop?

In this personal growth workshop, we will use dance and movement in conjunction with other forms of creative expression to explore aspects of who we are as embodied being in relationship to ourselves and others. The workshop will use individual and group structures, with music andin silence, to explore and deepen personal awareness and understanding. Specific class experiences will be based on Laban Movement Analysis, Kinesiology/ Somatics, as well as approaches used by Chace (group work, mirroring), Whitehouse (Authentic Movement), Bartenieff (Laban Movement Analysis)and others.  The primary focus of this workshop will be on the participants’ individual experiences and personal growth discoveries, rather than on didactic or theoretical information.
